Details: A Technical Data Security Consultant performs a key function within the information security community & with the bank’s internal business clients and 3rd Party Suppliers. Successful candidates for the role will; Drive Information Security requirements and solutions into the bank’s change programmes and improve the consolidated security risk profiles for business areas. Have a good understanding of the organisations security policies and associated standards. Be aware of the components and mechanisms making up the organisations IT security Architecture and the controls that they provide.  Is experienced in the concepts of corporate governance within an IT environment. Use the above to undertake and lead where appropriate a variety of IT Security activities and other related activities which together aid in ensuring that the organisation’s assets and IT systems are appropriately protected against unauthorised activities including deliberate or accidental loss. Work with client stakeholders and program managers to enable the business to operate within acceptable risk levels.   Key Accountabilities: Identify, plan, coordinate and supervise the delivery of security assessments and other security services required. Manage a virtual team/other resources on a project by project basis as required. Accountable for representing GIS in cross-functional change programmes and business area meetings to ensure that information security considerations are included and considered and informed decisions are made to achieve agreed outcomes Involvement and contribution in designs with regard to IT security controls, providing guidance early in project planning and solution definition phases. Lead the provision of detailed specifications for IT security solutions and supporting the development of testing plans. Review IT security solutions for projects and confirm that these meet GIS Standards. Undertake and facilitate risk and vulnerability assessments of applications and systems to ensure technical vulnerabilities are identified and correctly managed.   Assist Risk Owners to accurately assess the likelihood and impact of technical vulnerabilities.   Person Specification:   Knowledge in multiple information security technologies and their strengths and shortcomings. Proven experience with securing information for cross-functional, cross-platform applications. Monitors marketplace trends and experiences on security, audit and control issues. Clear articulation of common IT & Information Security structure, tools and functions within Financial Services organisations. Familiar with integration and implementation issues and their security implications. Demonstrate competence in key areas of expertise including communication, control, quality management, risk analysis and the achievement of targets. Perform work which requires the application of a significant range of fundamental principles in an unpredictable variety of contexts.
