Details: Network Engineer - CISCO / CCNP / IPS, routers and switches is required to work within the Security Operations arm of the CISO organisation, the Network Engineer (IPS) owns the health and maintenance of all IPS devices and is responsible for ensuring their availability and best practice life cycle maintenance at all times.   The Network Engineer (IPS) is also responsible, where needed, to assist with new IPS deployments and the monitoring, triage and investigation of alerts and potential health and support issues.   While contributing to a culture of Continuous Improvement, the role holder will deliver healthy, stable and available IPS to technology divisions and the business in a way that enables them to operate with confidence, knowing that a dedicated, professional team are ensuring they have the right tools and support to protect the business and the Learner.   The role holder will also be responsible for documentation of processes and for tracking the quality of IPS services delivered and for working with the Security Operations reporting controls to provide updates based on KPIs, SLAs and customer feedback.   Working with the Security Operations interface into Service Control, the role holder will ensure the IPS service adheres to the business change processes and that all changes are appropriately reviewed by a Global Change Approval Board.   Main Responsibilities As a direct report to IPS Lead you will have the following accountabilities: Assist with IPS deployments and perform any necessary build configurations Ensure deployed devices adhere to best practices Integrate feeds and features such as net flow feeds, LDAP connector, etc. Ensure all devices are integrated into the appropriate management system Actively monitor IPS health and design, document and deliver any necessary health monitoring solutions (eg Integration with company network monitoring solution; threshold email notifications, etc.) Develop, maintain and document life cycle support including software upgrades, firmware upgrades and signature updates Develop, maintain and document IPS backups Ensure consistent alert flow to SIEM and company solutions Track and report on IPS status, ie up/down, any network connectivity issues, any IPS issues Document and take ownership of IPS troubleshooting in addition to internal and vendor support processes and tickets Update any applicable spreadsheets and trackers Accurately deploy security configurations to selected devices as supplied by senior SOC staff Assist where needed with monitoring IPS console/logs for active alerts, determine priority of response and investigate
