Details: Secure Design Architect (Network, Engineering, Security, Development) Our client, a multinational financial services organisation is looking for a Secure Design Architect to sit interface with Network, Engineering, Security and Development SMEs. The Secure Design Architect will take responsibility for the investigation and application of changes to project scope and provide direction and guidance on all technical security aspects of the development to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned systems and IT infrastructure remain compatible. Key Activities Review the effectiveness of the current security controls, environments, and practices. Leads the creation of security strategies, specifying security requirements, and reporting on success. Identifies and responds to current and past security threats to systems and information. Develops the strategic response to these threats and produces standards and tests to ensure that systems, networks, and data are protected. Is able to work within the system development environment and recommends solutions and practices that will make use of this environment and culture. Previous experience of working in an environment where security considerations in the development of applications were essential to the delivery of the application. Familiar with industry standards and compliance requirements such as OWASP, CERT, NIST and PCI DSS. Worked with industry standard processes relating to change management and governance, such as Prince and COBIT Broad and demonstrable experience of working with a diverse set of stakeholders, applying security requirements to application design Is able to show a clear understanding of application security issues by demonstrating common and new attacks against systems, networks, and applications Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas. Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products. Within a business change programme, assists in the preparation of technical plans and cooperates with business assurance and project staff to ensure that appropriate technical resources are made available. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices are applied correctly. Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components. Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks.
